With your rubber backing laid out, your rope unraveled and your hot glue gun charged and ready… take a breath and start glueing down some rope!
Step 1: Start by glueing the rope onto itself to form a little coil.
Step 2: Place the small coil you have made in the middle of your rubber backing mat.
Step 3: Start glueing further rope around the edges creating a bigger coil.
Step 4: When you reach the end of your rope cut the end on an angle and glue the tip slightly tucked under the coil.
Step 5: Continue step 3-4 until you are happy with the size of your mat.
Step 6: Cut away the rubber backing with scissors.
Step 7: Make smaller coils like you did in step 1, and glue these to the outer edge of the mat. I recommend sewing these on to secure.
