Pantone’s Colour of the Year ‘Marsala’, is a purple/red hue which is rich and inviting but it can be a bold colour to work into some households. I think the key to introducing a new colour into a room is to buy/update with small decor items for example, a new print to frame, a fresh bunch of flowers and a new cushion. Small touches like this can really make a big difference.
I have put together some inspiration mood boards below, with ideas on how you can incorporate the colour of the year into your home and wardrobe. Everything can be purchased through the largest online marketplace, Etsy – links will be numbered underneath the images.
Marsala for the HOME
The marsala colour against copper/gold accents is so on trend right now. I am really loving the ombre tassel, I would probably wear this on a necklace, I love it so damn much.
Marsala for the NURSERY
If you are anything like me I update my child’s room more than I do any other room in the house. Here are some fun decor pieces for his or her room. Make items like the airplane cross stitch art look more “boyish” by hanging it on a dark navy wall or combining it in a gallery wall with darker prints.
Marsala for the OFFICE
Such fun ways to add a splash of colour to your office area. I am really in love with these table socks!
Marsala for STYLE
This colour against crisp whites and gold or rose gold hardware looks amazing. Don’t want to invest in statement pieces? Why not try starting with a deep red nail varnish.
