They are far and few between business’ with a moral backbone to their environment, I want to tell you all about one such business that is just up the road from us.
Sitting on 160 acres 6km from boutique country town Kangaroo Valley is an original dairy farm lovingly restored to an eclectic, eco retreat which is: Broger’s End. Sarah, the owner, has an eco conscience and bought this property with a vision to regenerate the native landscape and restore it into a haven for sustainable living.
Roughly 70 years old this miking shed has a set of three french doors, which originally let three cows be milked at once now open up to wisteria covered alfresco area, perfect for dining and soaking up the views.
Warmed by a wood stove the open plan living area is styled with vintage and antique furniture and fittings. A little bit country but not lacking in comfort with a pillow topped queen bed with luxurious linen bedding.
The modern bathroom with a spa bath and separate shower opens up to the garden and an outdoor bath.
Abound with walking tracks and a beautiful river for swimming, there is no excuse not to come. Even your dog is welcome!
The latest addition to Broger’s End is the converted farm shed. Creative uses of reclaimed and recycled materials, including windows and doors have made a three bedroom sanctuary with a minimal footprint.
A large living space with a wood fire, boasts an outdoor and indoor entertaining/dining areas, a fire pit and a pizza oven! Pick your basil from permaculture garden at your doorstep and steal an egg from the chickens in the morning for brekkie.
The polished concrete bench top in the modern kitchen with all the mod cons makes me want to host a cooking workshop there!
To book a romantic weekend away you just need to go > here. You are guaranteed to leave your stresses behind safe with the knowledge you are supporting an eco accredited business in a beautiful part of the world.
