A Guide To Getting Your Home Updated in Time for Spring

If you want to make some changes to your home, it can take up quite a bit of time. A lot of people can be put off making changes as it can take up so much of your time. Making a few small changes month by month can make such a difference, though. You will hardly notice that you are making big changes until after a few months. So for a lot of people, it is a much more realistic way of updating your home. Here are a few different things that you can do each month, to have a home updated in time for spring.

September

Next month you could start the update by having a clear out and sort of your kitchen. Having a clear out of the cupboards and pantry, and cleaning them will clear up so much space. It will mean the kitchen is much more organised and easier to use.

October

The following month would be a good time to get started with the bathrooms in your home. You spend so much time in those rooms that it is a place that can end up looking a little sad, quite quickly. You could replace faucets or storage units. You could repaint the walls with an anti-mould paint. You could update the room by adding pops of colour with new items like accessories and towels.

November

November would be a good time to have a look at the condition of your furniture. Then if you need to make any changes, it will all be done before Christmas. If you have some furniture that needs a little bit of love, you could always reupholster, instead of replacing. December

December can be a busy time, so you don’t want to have to make too many changes. That is why it might be a good month to have a clear out of your closets. It gets things ready for anything new that you might get for the holidays. It also means sorting things into categories. You can put away anything that won’t be worn until summer, for example.

January

With the start of a new year, it is a good time to make a large change. Quite often there are sales on at that time of year too. So think about getting new flooring. A room might need some new carpet or some new laminate flooring. So look around the home to see which flooring is looking a little worn out. You could just clean the carpets if you’re fine keeping the flooring as it is.

February

This is the final month before spring time. So it is a good idea to look at the exterior of the home. After winter, it could do with a bit of tender loving care. Jet washing the driveway or patio areas is a good idea, as well as giving any painted areas a fresh coat of paint.
